Mrs. Barnes - 5th Grade ELA/Social Studies

🎉💜 Buckle up, fifth grade—Mrs. Becca Barnes is in the building and she’s bringing the energy to PHE! I’m beyond thrilled to be part of this fabulous fifth grade team, and trust me, it’s going to be a year to remember! 🚀📚

 

Born in a cozy little town in West Tennessee, I grew up bouncing from school to school—and guess what? I loved being the new kid! Only child vibes, high school in Nashville, and then off to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (Go MOCS! 🧡)—where the adventure really began!

 

I kicked off my teaching journey with Kindergarten and First Grade at Apison Elementary, then love swept me off my feet and down to Georgia (Go DAWGS! ❤️🐾). I earned my master’s in Reading from the University of Georgia and spent 8 amazing years teaching Third Grade there. Fast forward to Soddy Daisy, TN—8 more years of Third Grade, one year of Fourth, and now I’m diving into my fourth fabulous year of Fifth Grade! 🎓✨

 

I’m married to the one and only Coach Justin Barnes—Offensive Coordinator at Riverdale High (Go Warriors! 🏈🔥). We’ve got two incredible daughters: Brenna (15, RHS sophomore!) and Brinkley (12, CHMS 6th grader!). They’re my daily dose of joy, giggles, and sideline cheerleading! 🎀⚽🏀

 

We’re a family that loves to travel, try new things, and make memories. Whether it’s cheering at CHMS soccer or Riverdale basketball, we’re all in! 💪🎉
