Welcome to PE
Hi, I’m Josh Kubly, and I’m excited to be one of two PE teachers here at Poplar Hill Elementary! I’ve been in education for 24 years; the first 8 spent teaching physical education to K–8 students and coaching high school track and football. For the last 12 years, I worked in administration for Rutherford County Schools where I served as the district’s testing and safe schools coordinator.
I believe the gym is just as much a classroom as any other, and it’s where kids can build the skills and confidence they need to stay active and healthy for life. My goal is to make PE fun, engaging, and something every student looks forward to.
I have a Master’s in Educational Administration and am currently working on a Master’s in Theology. Outside of school, I enjoy exercising, traveling, serving at my church, and spending time with my wife, Cindy, who’s been with RCS since 2008 and now works in Budget & Finance. We’re proud parents of two grown sons—both RCS grads from Central Magnet and Oakland High.
I’m in the Microdon Pack and grateful to be part of the Poplar Hill community and love helping students find joy in movement and lifelong wellness.
