Emily Tansey - 4th Grade Math/Science
My name is Emily Tansey, and I am so excited to begin this year at Poplar Hill! I will be your child’s fourth grade math and science teacher. This is my 11th year teaching 4th grade! I previously taught at Nolensville Elementary in Williamson County but I am excited to now be closer to home. I strive to make my classroom a comfortable and safe learning environment. By the end of the year my students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their mistakes so that we can all learn from each other. I hope that we will be able to work towards a successful year together!
I was born and raised outside of Memphis, in Bartlett, Tennessee. I moved to Murfreesboro in 2008 to attend Middle Tennessee State University. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education K-6. My husband and I met at MTSU in 2012. We have been married for 8 years and live in Murfreesboro with our 1-year-old son, Caden, and dog, Maybell. In my free time I enjoy practicing yoga, hiking, and learning the ends and outs of fly fishing!
Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I have a love for learning, and I hope that I can instill that in my students! By making my classroom a safe, fun and disciplined environment, I hope that your kiddos will enjoy coming to my classroom and learning something new each and every day. I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to provide that for each of my students every day.
If you have questions and need to contact me, please email me at [email protected] or send me a message on Class Dojo. Thank you for sharing your child with me each day!
I am looking forward to a PHEnomenal year!
