The Coyote Store Opens This Week!

We are excited to open the Coyote Store this week! Students will have the opportunity to shop on Tuesday and Wednesday and spend some of the Coyote Cash (PACK Points) they have worked hard to earn so far this school year.

Throughout the first nine weeks, students have earned PACK Points by demonstrating our PACK expectations and making positive choices at school. All Coyote Cash has now been tallied, and students will receive their own Coyote Debit Card on their shopping day showing the amount they have available to spend.

Attached are some of the items and special experiences students will be able to purchase. Our goal is for the Coyote Store to be more than just a reward—it is also an opportunity to begin teaching our students important lessons about financial literacy, saving, spending, and the value of money.

Students do not have to spend all of their Coyote Cash! Maybe there is an item or experience they really want but do not have enough Coyote Cash for yet. They can choose to purchase something small this time and save the rest for our next shopping opportunity. Anything they save will carry over and be added to the Coyote Cash they earn during the next nine weeks.

This is also a great opportunity for families to talk with students about making choices with money: Do I want to spend it now or save it? What can I afford? Is there something bigger I want to work toward?

We hope our students have fun shopping on Tuesday and Wednesday while also learning that the choices we make with our money matter. We are excited for our Coyotes to put those PACK Points to work!

A Quick Reminder About AirTags & Tracking Devices

We understand that some families choose to place AirTags or other tracking devices in their child’s backpacks.

Please remember that these are personal items, and Poplar Hill Elementary is not responsible for AirTags, watches, or other tracking devices that are lost, misplaced, damaged, or accidentally placed in another student’s belongings. If your child brings one to school, we encourage you to make sure it is securely attached and clearly identifiable.

We are sharing this reminder because an AirTag was recently found in another student’s backpack. We believe it may have been accidentally misplaced and would like to help return it to its owner.

If your family is missing an AirTag, please reach out to us. If you can identify the serial number, we will be happy to assist in getting it back to you.

Thank you for helping us keep track of personal belongings and for your continued partnership with PHE!

🪿💚 Our First GOOSE Award Recipient! 💚🪿 We are proud to celebrate Mrs. Heather Jolly as the very first recipient of the Poplar Hill GOOSE Award, nominated by her peers! Her peers said, "Mrs. Jolly consistently goes above and beyond without ever looking for recognition. She serves everyone with grace, balances more plates than most people ever see, and does it all without complaining. She simply sees a need and steps in to help." That is exactly what the GOOSE Award represents: Goes Out Of their way to Support Everyone! 🪿 Congratulations, Mrs. Jolly! We are so proud of you and thankful you are part of our Coyote family! 💚💛 Who will she hand off the GOOSE to next week? #PoplarHillElementary #GOOSEAward #CoyotePride #StrongerTogetherFamilyForever

It’s Freedom Week, and our Coyotes will be learning about the Constitution and the freedoms we enjoy as Americans! We have another great week ahead with parent lunches, our Coyote Parent Pack meeting, and more.

Coyote Parent Pack Meeting – Monday at 6:00 PM

We would love to have our PHE parents join us Monday evening at 6:00 PM in the library for our Coyote Parent Pack meeting—our version of a PTO  without the officers and formalities! Our main focus will be planning and finalizing details for our Fall Festival on October 16. We need parent voices and helping hands from every grade level to make this a great event for our students and families. Whether you’ve been involved before or this would be your first meeting, everyone is welcome!

Families,

A reminder that tomorrow is Picture Day! Students will have their individual school pictures taken, so we encourage everyone to dress their best and come ready to smile!

We are just TWO DAYS AWAY from our Coyote Dash Glow Run! We are currently at an incredible $38,300 raised—well past our original goal and SO close to $40,000! Thank you for the tremendous generosity and support you have shown our school!

Glow Run – Friday

The Glow Run schedule is below, and we hope to see you there! Students should wear white or neon-colored clothing so they will glow under the black lights while they run. We will provide glow sticks and other glow materials, but students are also welcome to bring their own school-appropriate glow items for the run.

Families Attending the Glow Run

Please make sure you have Pre-RAPTORed before Friday to save time entering the building.

All families will:

Enter through the back doors near the gym

Pass through our Weapons Detection System

Receive a RAPTOR visitor sticker before entering the gym

If you have not Pre-RAPTORed, you will need to wait in line to check in using our RAPTOR machine before entering. I have included the Pre-RAPTOR link again below for anyone who has not completed it yet.

https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/EfR5hZRvsR

And Now for the FUN Part…

Because of your incredible fundraising efforts, Dr. Eaton AND Dr. Hale will BOTH be slimed Friday afternoon!

But we aren't stopping with slime…

$38,300+ — Dr. Eaton & Dr. Hale get SLIMED, followed by chocolate syrup and sprinkles!

$40,000 — Add WHIPPED CREAM!

$45,000 — Students will choose ANOTHER ADULT to join us, and we will top the whole thing off with CHERRIES!

We are SO close to that next goal. Let's see how far our Coyotes can push it in these final two days!

Thank you again for your incredible support and generous donations. We are extremely thankful for our PHE families and cannot wait for a fun-filled Friday together!
